What is 3Profiti?:

3Profiti 3Profiti is a lightweight and easy-to-use screen recorder designed to offer complete control without the hassle. It allows you to capture video with advanced options such as displaying or hiding the cursor, adjusting the frame rate, choosing the output resolution, and activating a timelapse mode. Its interface includes a direct recording button, a dark or light theme selector, and a simple configuration window. It also offers additional features such as a .dat file extractor and the ability to automatically assemble MP4 files. All this in a compact installer, designed for those looking for a practical, fast, and reliable tool for recording their screen.

How recording works

3Profiti uses the Windows GDI API to capture frames at the rate you choose. The frames are compressed as JPEG data inside a .dat file, which can be kept for inspection or removed after the final video is assembled.

Settings that matter

FPS: choose how many frames should be captured. Higher values use more GPU resources.

Resolution: set the output width and height instead of accepting a fixed preset.

Show cursor: include or hide the mouse pointer in the recording.

Time lapse: capture a longer process with fewer frames, useful on modest hardware or when disk space matters.

Assemble MP4: decide whether the application should create the finished video when recording ends.

Working with the DAT extractor

The extractor requires Python on Windows. From the extractor folder, use the commands below to recover frames or inspect the number of frames in a recording.

python extract_jpgs.py [videoName.dat] [outputFolder] [numberOfFrames] python framecounter.py [videoName.dat]
